Desperately trying to find replacement paddle.

I inherited the KitchenAid mixer that I gave to my mother for her 40th birthday. The paddle is chipping like many other reviewers and I cannot seem to find a replacement. I've ordered 2 from Amazon that turned out to have different measurements than the item specifications. Please help!

Inadequate beaters and dough hook
Chris1991
12/2/2019
I bought my Professional 6000 HD mixer because I grew up using my mom's. She had hers for 30+ years and they came with metal/non coated beaters and dough hooks. Never a problem. My mixer has coated beater/dough hook (which have both chipped) and an inferior wisk attachment that is covered in black residue on the neck. So disappointing so I repurchased another coated flat beater and had the same problem. How can I get a quality replacement?

I've had my mixer several years and love it! I'm disappointed that the flat beater has chipped on the very bottom and is slowly getting worse. I'm worried the coating is getting into the food. I have also been finding it very difficult to get a new paddle attachment.

The mixer is overall great but this attachment is very frustrating. The enamel began chipping off almost immediately and lost a lot of batches of dough to paint chips. I wish this worked better but it's just not worth the frustration and fear of feeding my family paint.

My mixer is just under 2 years old. While preparing Thanksgiving dinner, I was handwashing the flat beater and noticed the enamel bubbling and then falling off. Thank goodness I noticed the bubbling or I would have had to throw out the cheesecake for fear someone would bite into enamel chips. We always handwash the beaters and bowl, so I was really surprised this happened. After reading reviews here stating that people had problems with multiple flat beaters, I am concerned this was not a fluke, but a manufacturing issue. Very disappointed.

Dirt from metal coming off into food
LjbClt
11/27/2019
I have the KitchenAid Professional 550 HD which I've had for probably 10+ years and I love. My flat beater is metal and not coated. I will say I don't use my mixer that often like most people. I'm now finding that black dirt is coming off of my flat beater. I tried washing it by hand and then put it in the dishwasher but neither made any difference. I need a new beater but looking at the reviews this coated one may not be any better.

I have to buy the dough hook and the flat beater, but after reading reviews it concerns me that this continues to be a common occurrence. Has kitchen aid developed better enamel coated beaters that do not chip so frequently? My dough hook has not chipped but cracked at the top and water has gotten under the enamel causing bubblin. I love my machine and have purchased one for each of my 3 children for their homes. I hate that this continues to happen. My machine is KSM5 model and have it is for 30 years and highly recommend the kitchen aid mixer and have encouraged many to purchase with several highly appreciated friends.

Mixer paddle keeps chipping
Jillie_mc08

After upgrading to the 6 qt pro hoping maybe the problem would be solved..silly me...I lost count at how many beaters I have bought and every single one of them chipped in several different spots..I called customer service to no avail because low and behold after sending the entire mixer in for repair and buying yet another blade that one chipped also..I am now looking to upgrade again as I am an avid home baker and to be perfectly honest after being a kitchenaid fan for over 30 years I am disappointed in the quality lately..starting to check out the revile mixers.. I hope you can resolve the chipping because it seems to be an ongoing problem for many people I can see from the reviews here and all over the Internet a lot of people have had the same issue.

This was the attachment I used the most so I was disappointed when the white coating peeled off. I got the new attachment with the built in scraper and that ended up knocking my mixer off kilter somehow. I just got it back from repair and they recommended I not use the attachment with the scraper. I'm going back to this one but Kitchenaid really should make one that doesn't peel.

I love my Kitchen Aid mixer but why does the flat beater peel and chip when I've taken good care to wash it by hand after every use? We have the KP26M1XER model and we have to replace all three of the attachments, flat beater, 11 wire whip and the dough hook because the coating comes off. We've hand washed them everytime, but the coating comes off and ruins what we are making. Is there anyway I can get stainless steel attachments to replace the ones that are no longer useable?

Ordered a Replacement, but it's wrong size

I too had the same problem as everyone else with the finish chipping off my flat beater. After searching and searching everywhere to no avail, to figure out the best size to use, I finally ordered one that I hoped would fit, which came today and is way too big to fit in the bowl. I have my model and serial number but unfortunately, as everyone else has stated, the part number and the model numbers don't match. Please let me know how to return the incorrect size for a refund and to order a new one. My order number is 0700692618, but nowhere in the email confirmation does it give any idea how to return something. Thank you!

Love the mixer, not the flat beater

I bought my mixer brand new about 2-3 years ago. The mixer itself works fine but the issues are with the flat beater. As everyone has been saying, the enamel chips off. The enamel on mine started chipping off after the first few uses. Now, I have it chipping off on dang near everything and I have to inspect the food prior to serving to make sure I don't hurt anyone or make them sick. This is insane, Kitchenaid. You've been around d for decades and cannot manage to fix this issue. Highly disappointed.

Why so difficult?
Deb_t
10/9/2019
Why is it so difficult to find a part that fits when your descriptions do not include the model numbers that they fit? Also why aren't these beaters made from stainless steel? My old one turned a nasty gray and from the reviews these new ones chip and leave who knows what kind of hazard in food I would feed to my grandchildren. I love my mixer but very disappointed in KitchenAid at this point.

Enamel chipped into food on 2nd use
Doji
9/24/2019
I received my Kitchenaid a few months ago and LOVE it. I usually use the whisk and all the attachments but have used the flat beater a couple times. The second or 3rd time of use the enamel chipped off into and ruining the whole bowl of expensive cheeses. We called Kitchenaid and they would not stand behind the issue and gave us 20% off to order another one, which we did and the flex beater too. Then I find this page with the reviews only to see it is a major problem with the beater and apparently nothing is being done about it. Sad being the reputation they have that a part with so many issues is not being replaced.

This is the third time I have had to replace this beater. Isn't it sad that the beater doesn't match the quality of the mixer. Why don't they make a stainless steel beater. One shouldn't have to worry about the coating coming off when you are mixing up food - companies have to do recalls over that type of problem. When can we expect a good quality upgrade?

Eating chipped enamel
Cindy A
9/27/2018
I absolutely love my KitchenAid mixer! It has been running strong for 20 years. I love the attachments (especially the fruit strainer). The beater is the only exception. The enamel chipped off original beater, when it was just a few month old, so I called KitchenAid. The rep said it was my fault for not adjusting the bowl height, so they wouldn't replace it. So I gave in and purchased another one. Before long it was chipping as well. It has nothing to do with bowl height because even the top of the beater, that never touches the bowl or anything is chipped like crazy. I hate to buy another and begin eating enamel again, but not sure what to do.

I love my Kitchen Aid mixer and use it often. The last two days I've spent making Valentine cookies for grade school party next week. Tonight I noticed a large chip of enamel has come off my white coated flat beater. But where is the chip? I'm just sick to think the chip is somewhere in the cookies and I'll need to toss them all. Now I'm reading all the reviews about enamel flat beaters chipping? I'm so disappointed that KitchenAid hasnt resolved this problem! Think twice before you invest in this classic mixer.

I've had my mixer 5 years now and usually pull it out about 6 times a year. This beater has now started chipping everywhere (and no it is not from hitting the sides of the bowl) Horrible!!!! Wish it has come with a burnished one like the artisan models. How is it that the cheaper models come with ones that won't chip and the more expensive models don't?!?!?!
Very disappointing from a consumer standpoint.
