one of the very few models to fit into our kitchen space. First time with a side by side, so getting used to the arrangement. Wish it came with a bin to hold the ice cubes but thankful it came with 2 trays for making ice cubes. All in all a great value for the money

Worst fridge EVER!!!!! I literally wasted 1500 plus tax on a piece of garbage that broke down after 1.5 years and then again even though a new motor was put in. I had to pay each time to have a person come in to fix it as whirlpool only pays for parts. It's been a literal disaster! This fridge is the worst and considering how bad it is the warranty is garbage unless you pay for extended. Had I known I would have but one never expects such bad workmanship from an appliance. Beyond terrible and literally a waste of a lot of money!!!!!

We got this delivered on March 5th, and so far all is well. Our other one was about 10 years old, and needing some parts. So we decided to get a new one and not spend the money on an old one. We are glad we did. The delivery people were from Home Depot and they were great.

I got this to replace a 31+ year old Whirlpool refrigerator with an almost identical newer model. Of course it fit in the space perfectly even with being a few inches deeper. I love the newer solid shelves so pop bottles don™™t fall over. The door shelves are also deeper so there is more room. It was frustrating with how many stickers and how much tape that had to be removed. There is not quite the same flexibility with the cooling settings as it is in whole numbers with no half numbers in between. I wish I knew what times the freezer auto defrost was set to take place thinking this should be at night but happens during the day. But overall I am very pleased.

The refrigerator came to the house with no leveling feet, they were not put on at the factory. when you open the doors the refrigerator rolls back and forth. I was on the Whirlpool site for hours with no resolve, terrible web site. We had to scab in some wood stoppers for the time being .Went back to Lowes and told them but so far no response. Refrigerator is a little loud and the right side door swings open hard if you dont hang on to it. Otherwise it works.

Replaced a thirty plus year amana side by side with this one. This style fits our space the best. I probably could have rebuilt the Amana but decided for new technologies. So far this is much improved. Quieter than the old one and better lighting. And most importantly more space at least in the refrigerator side. Less space in the freezer but worth the compromise. We have a freezer or refrigerator unit as an overflow when needed. Overall this unit fits perfectly for our needs in the space we currently have.

I really like this refrigerator. The stainless steel exterior is easy to clean, the interior lights are bright and the refrigerator side is roomy. The freezer section is smaller than I expected but I bought it online from Costco so I didn't see it until it was delivered. The only other thing is that the stainless steel exterior is easily scratched so be careful with things like decrative magnets.

What you should have done was remove the plate from a new unit and send it to us immediately.

I have had this refrigerator for a week and a half and am not happy with it at all. Neither the refrigerator nor freezer mainatains the proper temperature - the refrgierator tends to be too cold and the freezer too warm in spite of trying to adjust the temperature settings. Also, it seems to run for a very long time - an hour + when I've noticed.

It's been one year since is purchased the refrigerator. Everything is working fine. The temperatures are controlled well and I have not had any food spoilage. Added a couple of add-on drawers for food segregation.

overall a good refrigerator
downsides: it intermittently hums moderately loudly and this fluctuates based on where I'm standing within a 3-4 foot radius around it (sometimes it is nicely quiet).
would be nice to have more options for adjusting the shelf heights and the temperature ..... still trying to figure out how to keep the meat cold but not freeze the lettuce.

I ordered the Whirlpool refrigerator on Aug. 30 and the delivery date was quoted as Sept. 28. Whirlpool kept changing the delivery date and I finally received the refrig on November 5. From the moment I plugged the refrigerator in, it was loud and had a very loud clicking noise everytime the compressor started and stopped. I contacted Whirlpool immediately and they said they would arrange to have someone come and check the noise. I have not heard back from Whirlpool since.Their biggest concern seemed to be if I purchased the Extended Warranty. In addition, the manual shows there are levelors to level the refrig but there are none. It sits on rollers and does not have a lock brake so it can move when the door is opened. The glass shelves have a piece of cheap plastic on the front and back edges; none on the sides. You can cut yourself from the sharp edges on the sides when you take the shelves out to clean. I am afraid of breaking a shelf if I put anything heavier than a half gallon of milk. The shelves are not suitable for a refrigerator. I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance and do not recommend Whirlpool.

I received my fridge over a month ago and I am very happy with its design. I previously had a French door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. I never liked having to hold one door with my elbow, while I was opening the other side because there wasn't enough room to gain full access to the items inside; however, with a side-by-side fridge, that issue is eliminated.

Excellent fridge, well laid out, seems to work well. The only things that give me pause are the plastic wall thickness of both the vegetable bins and the door bins. They are thin and slightly flexible, but made of rigid hard plastic. I'm just afraid they will break sometime within the first year or two.

I bought this item a month ago and I am not happy with it. The fridge door is very difficult to open and we have complained to the store, who have sent someone to check it. The service man agreed that it was sealing very tight. The store has ordered a new one, which hopefully will be better. Its to come on November 21st.

For a couple months I have been happily exploring what I could do with my new Abt side by side. The only negative I can find is the sides and handles of some of the shelves and tubs are a thin and I'm afraid they will break through the years. Other than that it's designed nicely and has plenty of room.. it seems reliable and I'm looking forward to many years of good service.

Great fridge and a beautiful upgrade to my existing one. Plenty of space both in freezer/firdge sections in a relatively small footprint for this kind of refrigerator.
Important to know :
- The fridge was too large to enter through my doorway. Fortunately, the firdge doors are easily removable. The delivery man was not familiar with the process and initially said he had no tools to remove the screws on top. This step is not necessary as they can be removed easily.
- The fridge makes a lot of noise during the first 1-2 weeks of operation. We were scared at the beginning but this appears to be normal. It is now functioning at a correct noise level.

The refrigerator arrived undamaged. I had to install ice maker and that went well based on installation instructions. Refrigerator seems to be working very well. The only reason I didn't give this 5 star rating is that when the refrigerator is running it is noisy. Otherwise I would have given a good rating.

It is a piece of junk. It did not work properly from day one. On the coldest setting the refrigerator section was 57 degrees and the freezer section was just below 40 degrees. It was delivered 8/16 and we were not able to get a repairman to come until 8/26. He said it was a bad compressor and he has seen this same problem before. He ordered a new one. The part came in while we were on vacation and the repairman came 9/23. The replacement compressor does not work at all. My husband has called Whirlpool 3 times. the last time asking to speak with a manager/supervisor and the person refused to transfer him or one call him back. We are also unhappy with how the temperature controls work, even it working properly, there is not even range in setting and needs a sliding control. We cannot get the vegetable or meat drawer out to wash because of the design. The only way to get them out is to open the door back, but it is against the wall.

The refrigerator French doors were not quite aligned yet nobody: the Manufacturer(Whirlpool), the extended warranty ( Domestic General service plan), nor the the Sales Office (Albert Lee in Bellevue Washington) bothered to fix the problem.

The "ideal" setting in the refrigerator is not cool enough to keep the butter from getting very soft. I've had to move it to 4 stars and wonder if that will increase the electricity significantly and/or cause it to run all the time! I do enjoy the quiet performance while it is running!

I've had this fridge for 20 days. The fridge typically operates between 41 and 48 degrees F, so any food in it is in the danger zone for food safety. It took a full 7 days of operation for it to get below 40 degrees in the fridge, and it only stayed that way for 3 days. I have both sections set at the coldest possible setting. The freezer usually operates between 0 and 40 degrees F so food thaws and refreezes daily. Yes, 40 degrees in the freezer section. The vendor will not take it back, and they could not get in touch with Whirlpool when they tried. I have to keep my perishables, and my husbands IV antibiotics in the shed fridge for safety while I figure out how to get a working fridge. And I waited 11 weeks for it to be delivered. We will not be buying another Whirlpool appliance.
Update: We've had this fridge for a month now. We've have two repairman visits. Fridge still does not maintain temperature below 40 degrees. Repairman spoke with Whirlpool technician who said to order a control panel which takes a week to be delivered. So we wait. Whirlpool technician told repairman that the heat and humidity don't help, yet the shed fridge (NOT a Whirlpool) manages to average below 40 degrees in the hot (full sun) shed.
